Bio
Martina Chow was born in the capital of Trinidad and Tobago - the most southerly island of the Caribbean. She was introduced to music at the age of 4, and never looked back. Martina honed her skills at Clement’s Music College, the University of the West Indies, and New York University. She has mastered multiple instruments, including voice, steelpan, flute, saxophone, clarinet, and percussion, and can often be seen accompanying herself on the piano and guitar.
Currently, Martina wears many hats as a performing musician, music therapist, music arranger, and tertiary level educator. Notably, she is the Director of the Solari Centre for Music Therapy, principal flautist of the National Philharmonic Orchestra of Trinidad and Tobago and a part time lecturer at the esteemed University of the West Indies.
As a solo vocalist and instrumentalist, her career has afforded Martina the opportunity to perform for audiences in New York, Cuba, French Guyana, and Guadeloupe. Noteworthy events in her home country include the Summit of the Americas as the vocal section leader of the Divine Echoes Orchestra, and numerous corporate events. Martina has also presented her own solo concerts in 2011, 2015 and 2018.
